をto hear that(それを聞いて)で述べています。このくto+動詞の原形、つまり不定詞は、「.... して」という感情の原因を表します。disappointed(がっかりした、失望した)のほか、sad(悲 しい)、sorry(残念な)、upset(心配した、あわてた)など、感情を表す形容詞とともに使われます。
