Min-jun                Here's our first assignment for the photography club, “angles and architecture.”

Ayane                  Architecture? Like buildings or bridges?

Min-jun                Exactly. New York has a lot of beautiful buildings, like churches and libraries.

Ayane                  It's fun for me to take pictures of people. I don't have much experience with taking pictures of scenery. I don't know where to start.

Min-jun                Don't worry. I know the perfect spot. Let's go there this weekend!

Ayane                  OK, sure!

ミンジュン:         これが写真部の初めての課題、「角度と建築」。

綾音:                    建築? 建物とか、橋とか?

ミンジュン:         そのとおり。ニューヨークには、教会や図書館みたいにきれいな建物がたくさんあるからね。

綾音:                    わたしは人物写真を撮るのは楽しい。風景写真を撮るのはあまり経験がないわ。どこから始めればいいかわからないな。

ミンジュン:         心配ないよ。とっておきの場所を知っている。今度の週末、そこへ行こうよ!

綾音:                    うん、いいね!

It is... for A to do

 

It's fun for me to take pictures of people.

わたしにとって、人物写真を撮ることは楽しいです。

 

It is... for A to do(動詞の原形)

「Aにとって〜することは...だ」「Aが~することは...だ」と言うとき、<It is... for A to do>の形をとります。Aには人を表す名詞や代名詞が入ります。この文では、まずIt's fun (楽しいです)と言ってから、itの内容をto+動詞の原形>を使ってto take pictures of peopleと述べています。このとき、写真を撮るのが「わたし」で あることをfor meで表します。このように、meはそれに続く不定詞 to takeの意味 上の主語を表します。
