I'm going to go to the festival this weekend.

わたしは今週末、お祭りに行く予定です。

●近い未来や予定などについて言うときには be going to を使います。 be going to は動詞の直前に置き、beのところは主語によってam.isareを使い分けます。

わたしはあした、野球をする予定です。

I'm going to play baseball tomorrow.

 

Tuesday

We're not going to work on the newspaper today.

わたしたちはきょう、新聞には取り組みません。

• be going toの否定文はbe動詞のあとに notを置きます。「~でないでしょう」や「~するつもりはありません」などの意味になります。

わたしたちは、あしたはバスケットボールを練習する予定ではありません。

We're not going to practice basketball tomorrow.

あなたはそれを食べるつもりですか?

• be going toの疑問文はbe動詞を文の最初に置きます。「~するつもりですか?」や「~する予定ですか?」などの意味になります。

わたしたちは次に何をしますか?

• whatやwhenなどを文頭に置いた場合、be going to の部分は [be動詞+主語] の語順になります。

形容詞と副詞

 

今回は形容詞と副詞について取り上げます。

We're going to go to the festival next Saturday.

わたしたちは次の土曜日にお祭りに行く予定です。

→ 形容詞・名詞を修飾する

What are we going to do next?

わたしたちは次に何をしましょうか?

⇒ 副詞・動詞、形容詞、そのほかの副詞を修飾する

○ほかの例

Bob is a fast swimmer.

ボブは泳ぐのが速いです。

→ 形容詞 fast が名詞の swimmerを修飾

Bob swims fast.

→ 副詞 fast が動詞のswims を修飾
