Emma                  I'm trying to take a good picture of the fireworks,but my timing is off. I don't know when to take the picture.

Min-jun                You have to press the button a little bit earlier.Also, you should change these camera settings.Watch this. See?

Emma                  That looks like a professional photograph, Min jun!

Min-jun                Well, photography is my hobby.

ミンジュン:         もう少し早めにボタンを押さないといけないんだよ。それに、カメラ設定を変えたほうがいいよ。これを見て、(エマのスマホの設定を変えて写真を撮る)ほらね?

エマ:                    ブロが撮った写真みたいに見えるわ、ミンジュン!

ミンジュン:         まあ、写真を撮るのが趣味でね。

疑問詞+to+動詞の原形

わたしはいつ写真を撮ったらいいかわかりません。

 

疑問詞+to + 動詞の原形

<when to + 動詞の原形>は、「いつ...するか」という意味です。whenのほか、 what, who,whereなどの疑問詞も同様に使います。次の例を見てみましょう。

what to wear on the Fourth of July              7月4日に何を着たらいいか

who to ask for advice                                    だれにアドバイスを求めたらいいか

where to plant the tree                                 その木をどこに植えたらいいか

 

〈疑問詞+to+動詞の原形>を意味のまとまりとしてとらえましょう。
