Halloween Event

If you wear a Halloween costume, you can
receive free candy at the mall shops. To enter the costume contest, take a
picture with your friends at the entrance. Categories include "the scariest
costume," "the cutest costume," and "the best couple's
costumes."

* Something Good to know trick or treat
trick or treatのtrickは「いたずら」、treatは「楽しみを与えるもの、ごちそう」 という意味です。trick
or treatは、「いたずらかお菓子か」、つまり「お菓子をくれないといたずらするぞ」という意味で、ハロウィーンの夜、子どもたちはこう言って近所の家を回ります。子どもにとっての「ごちそう」は「お菓子」ということです。
trickもtreatも同じ[tr]という音で始まります。このように同じ音で始まる語を つなげると、心地よい響きがします。これは英語の詩などで使われる技法です。ストーリーの中には、「l」で始まるLea
and Lucas や、「p]で始まるPerfect
Pizzeria などの例があります。
